GREAT TEXAS WARRANT ROUNDUP – SAN ANTONIO

The Great Texas Warrant Roundup has occurred each year in Texas for the last six years.  Locally, the event is sometimes called the San Antonio Warrant Roundup.  The event is aimed at encouraging individuals with outstanding warrants for unpaid traffic tickets to turn themselves in and pay their tickets, without threat of arrest.

Law enforcement agencies across the state extend a grace period to any person who has an outstanding warrant for their traffic violation. In 2012, the grade period for the Great Texas Warrant Roundup is February 13th – 24th.  Beginning on February 27th, once this grace period has expired, the San Antonio Police Department, Bexar County Sheriffs and other local law enforcement agencies will begin working together to “round up” fugitives.  This means police officers from SAPD and Bexar County will begin descending upon people’s homes, offices, job sites or anywhere in public they can be found, with warrants, to make arrests and transport non-payers to jail.

If you have a warrant, even though the grace period means you should not be arrested if you show up at the courthouse to pay your outstanding traffic ticket fines and warrant fee, you may still want to hire a traffic ticket lawyer.

Why hire a traffic ticket lawyer?  A lawyer can usually save you time and money resolving your speeding ticket and warrant, even during the free grace period.  This also applies to those who have warrant for an MIP or for CDL tickets.

During the Great Texas Warrant Roundup there are usually tons of people down at the courthouse.  This means you have to navigate an unfamiliar process while dealing with long lines and short fused court staff.  Resolution can take a half a day or more and frequently multiple trips will be required to finally resolve your ticket.  This requires a lot of your time!

Resolving a ticket yourself may also mean losing even more money from missed work or having to spend a personal day.  Hiring a traffic ticket lawyer can reduce the time you spend dealing with the ticket to almost zero and prevents you from having to lose even more money!  In fact, hiring a lawyer to resolve your ticket violation can actually cost less than the money you would have to pony up for the pooled cost of your ticket fine and warrant fine.

The Coquat Law Firm has multiple traffic ticket attorneys standing by ready to assit you with resolving your traffic tickets and warrants.  You may find we can even get the fee for your warrant dismissed altogether, even if your ticket is long overdue.  We will also negotiate on your behalf to have the actual ticket fine reduced and will argue to have the time you spend on deferred disposition lowered.

The cost for this service is only $150 per citation.  That means for a little as $150, you can pay a licensed attorney to spend their time, not yours, resolving your ticket, who will also fight to have your warrant fee dismissed and ensure the ticket itself stays off your permanent record.  Imagine going from being a “fugitive from justice” to “model citizen” with no effort on your part – all for less money than the cost of paying outright.

The Coquat Law Firm accepts payment online and over the phone via credit card.  Keep your traffic ticket warrant from becoming an ugly arrest.  Beat the Great Texas Warrant Roundup by calling us for help now! 210-745-2825.
