CALL 210-745-2825 to speak with a Traffic Ticket Lawyer in San Antonio about Traffic Tickets, Speeding Tickets, CDL and MIP ticket attorney defense.

The 11th annual Texas DPS Click-it or Ticket campaign is under way.  Each year, DPS sets aside time to run advertisements and remind people that it’s the law to buckle up in the State of Texas.  Police officers across the state and in San Antonio are out in force looking for seat belt violators.  Countless traffic tickets for failing to wear a seat belt will be given out in Bexar County.

Keep in mind that a law was passed in 2010 requiring all individuals in the car to buckle their seat belts.  This means that safety belts must be worn both in the front and back seats of an automobile.  This also means that not only children but adults as well must wear their seat belts – EVEN IN THE BACK SEAT!  Of course, children are required to be in child safety seats or cars seats.  As of June 1, 2010, kids up to 8 years old who are shorter than 4 feet, 9 inches must be properly secured in a car seat or booster seat — or drivers can face serious ticket fines.

A traffic violation for failing to wear a seat belt in San Antonio, Texas will cost a motorist $147.  The San Antonio Municipal Court will assess a traffic fine of $221 for failure to properly have a child strapped in to a Child Safety Seat.  In Bexar County, the same adult seat belt violation will cost you $160.  The Bexar County traffic courts (called Justice of the Peace Courts or just Justice Courts) will cite a driver with a traffic violation when No seat belt is worn by a passenger 4 – 16 years old.  Both this violation and those for failing to properly secure young children in a child safety seat will cost you $240 in the Bexar County traffic courts.

Not only are these traffic tickets costly violations, but insurance companies can drop motorosts who regularly get convicted for failing to wear their seat belts.  The traffic ticket attorneys at The Coquat Law Firm can help ensure you keep convictions of your permanent driving records. For a flat fee, we will go to the court on your behalf and defend you against a seat belt violation conviction.  We will work to get your fine and probationary period reduced, too.

If you need help with a seat belt ticket or traffic ticket of any kind in San Antonio or Bexar County, give one of our traffic ticket lawyers a call today at 210-745-2825.

I recieved a violation notice for driver seat belt use on Lackland AFB today. Violation states I must appear in US District Court. No payment noted on violation. Do you handle these federal violations?

I was pulled over in Windcrest today. Here’s what happened! My friend was driving and I was the passenger. We got in her car and she pulled out of the driveway while I was still adjusting my seat. She came to the stop sign at the end of the street located no more than 1/2 blocks from here house. It was then that I assume the cop saw I had no seat belt on. I buckled up right before we even left her street not even knowing he saw me. And sure enough we got pulled over a little bit later. Can I use this as a defense? I literally had my belt on before the car warning sound camre on.
